Why We Dropped the “Blanco” – The Next Chapter for Campo
If you’ve been with us for a while, you’ll know that Campo Blanco has always been about more than just tapas. From our first service, our goal was to create somewhere local people could gather, share, laugh, and feel at home over good food, good drinks, and good company.
Over the past few years, we’ve grown, evolved, and refined what we do. We’ve added brunches, Sunday roasts, private dining in Campito, live music, and countless community events. We’ve hosted everything from first dates to baby showers, charity nights to Christmas parties. Somewhere along the way, “Campo Blanco” became simply “Campo” in the way people talked about us, and that felt right.
So, we decided to make it official.
The Story Behind the Change
When we opened, Blanco (“white” in Spanish) tied into our early identity, bright, minimal, Mediterranean-inspired. But as we’ve evolved, our personality has deepened. The space has become warmer, more characterful, more us. “Campo” (meaning “field” or “countryside”) captures the heart of what we stand for now: grounded, community-driven, family-focused, and full of life.
We’re still proudly serving Spanish-inspired small plates, made from scratch by our kitchen team, using the best local and imported ingredients. But we’ve also grown into something broader, a neighbourhood restaurant where everyone feels welcome, whether you’re sharing tapas, tucking into a roast, or just enjoying a glass of sangria.
What’s Changing (and What’s Not)
You’ll see the new name across our website, menus, and socials, a clean, confident “Campo”.
But the heart of what we do stays exactly the same:
-
Food made with care, from scratch.
-
Warm, genuine service from a local team.
-
A place that celebrates connection, community, and great food.
A Natural Next Step
In short, dropping “Blanco” isn’t about changing who we are, it’s about growing into who we’ve become. It’s a nod to our roots and a step towards the future we’re building together.
So, whether you’ve been with us since day one or are just discovering us for the first time, welcome to Campo.
Same heart. New name. Still your local.
